Abbey Meadows site
We operate from a site on Abbey Meadows, just down the road from Abbeyfields First School. We are offering childcare for 2-5yr olds, on Monday - Fridays. We offer pre-school sessions from 9.15am - 12.15 and 12.30 - 3.30pm, sessions include a morning session, an afternoon session or a full day session.
We are also offering a before school club, which opens at 7.30 - 9am, with drop off at local schools, and an after school club which operates from 3.15-6pm, with collections from local schools.
Our Abbey Meadows site is located on Kirkhill estate, on the outskirts on Morpeth town. It is close to local transport, shops and accessible on foot. At this site families can access the setting by disable and pushchair accessible door which leads straight to a welcoming setting where the children can hang coats, talk about posters or pictures on display and use facilities.
The play space at our Kirkhill site is based in a light spacious room, where a large selection of activities are on offer for the children to independently choose from. A self registration board is used to allow the children to select their photo on arrival and put it on the board ready for the group to count everyone later in the session.
A snack time is offered during the session where children are encourage to washing hands before they eat, develop colour recognition to find their name place ticket and selecting and choosing items which they want.
Group times are used to share favourite and familiar songs, rhymes and ring games which help promote language, fine motor skills, co-operation and turn taking. We also encourage children to bring small items in which are linked to our weekly themes, and they can share them with the group and help develop their confidence, listening skills and language.
Fees
As of April 2023, fees are:
Before school club (7.30 -9am) (Booking required)
£6.13 per hour, and then every ¼ hr afterwards.
Example 7.30am – 9am 1 ½ hrs = £9.20
8am – 9am, 1 hr = £6.13
8.15 – 9am, 3/4hr = £6.13
Cancellation of place is required with 48 hrs notice to avoid charges of 1 hr.
After school club (3.15 -6pm) (booking required)
£6.13 for the first hour and then every 1/4hr afterwards.
Example 3.15 – 4.15pm 1hr = £6.13
3.15 – 4.45pm 1 1/2hrs = £9.20
Cancellation of place is required with 48 hrs notice to avoid charges of 1 hr.
Nursery school drop off or collection (Booking required)
Abbeyfields Frist School: £1.58 per child, per drop off/collection per day
Cancellation of place is required with 48 hrs notice to avoid charges of one drop off/collection.
Fees for
Pre-school session (sessions booked in advance)

Before and after school session can be added on to pre-school sessions. Booking required.
Fees are payable monthly in advance. Fees continue to be payable even if a child is absent. In cases of prolonged absence, parents should consult the management about fee payment. Each child’s attendance at the group is conditional upon continued payment of any necessary fees.
We require 4 weeks’ notice for termination of the place, this is necessary so that we can offer the place to another child and to ensure we have the correct number of staff to children per session.
Holidays
If you require some hours during the holidays, please speak to staff. We can offer childcare from 8.00am – 5pm. Some holidays have certain days available due to bank holidays or just closing to allow staff time off.
Estimate times will be requested by staff and families will sign in and out with the time recorded so you will be invoiced for only what you use, round up to the nearest ¼ hour.
A packed lunch is required if the child will be staying over lunch otherwise snacks will be provided once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Cancellation
If you have booked a place but need to cancel, we require 48 hours’ notice, to avoid being charged. If you fail to give 48 hours’ notice you will be charged for 3 hours or 50% of you requested booking.
Invoices are sent out following the end of the month.
Funded places
As from September 2019 we are eligible to accept children who are entitled to 15 hours’ free childcare. If the child is two years old and is eligible to 15 hours’ free childcare, then the pre-school needs to take some information about the child and the parent, to check the child’s entitlement and providing space is available then they can be accepted.
If the child is 3 or 4 years old, then they are also entitled to 15 or 30 hours free childcare. The Pre-school need to take some information from the child and parent to check their eligibility for the funding in that term, a 15 digit code from Gov.uk to show they are eligible for 30 hours of childcare. This can be split between childcare providers.
Childcare vouchers through your employer can be used for payment, please speak to the manager about this.
Tax free childcare accounts can be used towards full or part payment. Eligibility criteria applies.
Discount
If you have more than one child using a paid place in any of our sessions, you can benefit from a 10% discount off your invoice.
Feedback
The management would like to ensure that all parents and families get the opportunity to inform the pre-school about their experience whilst their child has attended the setting. We have compiled a feedback form which will be given to during your time attending the pre-school. We appreciate your honesty when completing this form to ensure we can continue to develop the pre-school and ensure all needs are being met.
