Hello, my back ground has involved working at Sunshine Playgroup back in 2000 – 2009, when I left and continued solely working at a local Out of School Club as Deputy until 2014.
I joined the committee of Sunshine Playgroup in 2012 when my daughter started and remained on it until it was dissolved in 2015. In February 2015 when I returned to work as a member of staff, we as a committee and staff decided to dissolve the charity side of the setting and reform it as a business. So as of September 2015 Sunshine Pre-school was formed, owned and managed by myself, along with a strong, developing and experienced team.
I have achieved throughout my education and development a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and a CACHE level 3 in Play work for Early Years. I enjoy working with children of varying ages and especially enjoy seeing them develop throughout their time at a setting.

From being young I knew I wanted to work with children. I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2000 after completing my PGCE training at Exeter University. I then worked in a lovely school in Lincolnshire until I got married and moved to London. I worked there as a supply teacher until my husband found a job in Durham and we moved to the northeast to be near his family and have one of our own. Both my children went to Sunshine and loved it, and I enjoyed helping out there for a while. The staff and atmosphere were always great and just after my youngest started in reception, I found out there was a job available and successfully applied! It's a real privileged to spend time with children and see them develop and mature so I'm really looking forward to getting to know you and your family in the coming months.
I hope you enjoy your time at Sunshine Pre-School with myself and the rest of the team!

Since I finished school, I decided to continue my education and from 2017 – 2020 I completed both my level 2 & 3 in Supporting teaching and learning.
In October 2020 I completed an online course for Level 2 in understanding Children and Young people’s mental health.
In September 2021 I started my Level 3 in Early Years Educator through the Apprenticeship scheme. I moved to Sunshine in August 2022, to continue my development and broaden my skills and knowledge and competed my coursework and the course in December 2022.
Since competing my training, I have been employed as an assistant at Sunshine Pre-School.
I feel in my life at this moment I have chosen the correct career choice.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know your child.
